Random Ramblings #2

Hi Guys,
             Is it just me or do you find all people who talk in jargon patronising well maybe not all but most .I tend to think that these people although very knowledgeable in their chosen field are a bit limited in there people skills ( or maybe its a superioraty complex ) and so therefore have to retreat into something they feel comfort in, id be interested in your views
so until we next facilitate an interface i'll pre-determine the dynamics of our conflab for a mix -combination of pre-disposed parameters.

Hi Guys
I am hoping to post weekly an opinion or view of something that grinds my gears or it may simply be a piece of prose or song lyrics that I feel embody the spirit of mixed media/altered art
It must therefore be stressed that these are solely my opinions and do not reflect the views of  any person or body of people of which I am an associate

Which brings us to my first "Random Rambling"

Random Rambling #1:-

Why do people ask you for your opinion when you know that there complete disregard is a pre-requisite
Is it that they are hoping that you'll agree with their views , or is it their get out of jail card if it all goes pear shaped ?? My random rambling is based soley on personal experience and would be interested on your opinion ( which i'll disregard of course) lol

WEBBING TECHNIQUE

              Don't forget this technique can be used to make a great faux frosted glass

web embossing powder technique tips

Hi Guys ,
            I know webbing technique looks real the  easy when you see it demonstrated  but it took me a while to master it there are two ways to do it

1, build your sandwich as follows applying gentle heat between layers

card
web
powder
web
powder
web
powder

then apply the heat to small areas at a time to melt the powder and burn away the web

too much heat and your powder will turn to liquid and go completely flat losing all dimension

2,   melt the powder completely between layers this technique is better if you are using multi -coloured layers

hope this helps i will try and get some step by step pictures done or maybe even a you tube stream for you ( yeah right )

WHAT NO TRIFLE !!!!!!!!!

               had a great day at cleethorpes on Saturday the crowd there are always welcoming but sadly there was no trifle. Happy 1st birthday to Rosie ,
Can i just take this opportunity to say how great the projects turned out, they were all done in different colours and every single one was great . I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did

Demo at M B Cafts

Hi Guys off to demo and teach at MB Crafts tomorrow (Saturday the 4th) I've been working on some Faux Ceramic tile techniques camera is working now so will post pictures over the weekend if I get chance i'll do some step by steps its very simple but very effective

Last weeks busy Weekend

            Had a busy weekend last weekend had a great demo day at Reams on Saturday thanks to Jill and Charlotte for keeping me well lubricated with coffee
I also had a great day sunday with the ladies at Pennyholme Crafts in Eckington Thanks again to Carol and Geoff for looking after me again

Finally a Blog Challenge !!

Hi Guys,
             Finally a blog challenge for you to get your teeth into. The title for the piece is " The Wizard ", now I don't know how other people do this but here are the stipulations for my blog challenge . You can use whatever products or mediums you want to use providing it is no bigger than 6" x 6" x 3" it can be in the form of a card, a mini scrapbook page a piece of textiles or a written piece of text . The more unusual the better the piece will be judged by your peers i.e. my blog followers and i'm sure i'll come up with a prize. Obviously I am not allowed to win but would be interested in any feedback good or bad the deadline for images is April 23rd votes can be cast upto 29th of April the winner will then be announced on the 30th of April and the next blog challenge set

JLT Crafts in Lutterworth OH HOW WE LAUGHED !!

Please beware exploding paint tubes !! we had an incident on Sunday that kept us laughing all afternoon one of the ladies managed to turn a tube of acrylic paint into a deadly weapon, decorating the ceiling ,the carpet and funniest of all ( sorry ) her friends hair , I hear green streaks are in this year.pictures to follow

Hi there I am slowly coming to grips with the fact that I have to have a blog. The problem is I have no-one to blog to at the moment I'm just blogging to the ether. No Problem tho I suppose it allows me to ramble ( like i am at the moment ) My intention going forward I suppose is to use this blog as a portal to share ideas I love altered art,mixed media and all crafts tactile I will therefore be setting up a monthly challenge , which you can either take part in or if you don't have the time just check back and see what those of us that did have the time,did

I will also put on here my demo schedule and where I am teaching workshops so that anybody who wants to come and say hello can do , or maybe even book on one of the workshops
